Salarycommensuratewith experience* Job Title: Senior Network Architect Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Duration: 12 Months (with potential for extension) Start Date: August 24, 2026 Hourly Rate: W2 $60-$75/hour (37.5-hour work weeks) Application Deadline: July 30, 2026 Overview We are seeking a Senior Network Architect who will support our client’s Operational Technology (OT) systems and network modernization initiatives. This senior-level role will lead the design, modeling, integration, and long-term planning of secure, resilient OT network infrastructure supporting critical transit operations. The consultant will partner with networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure, operations, and procurement teams to maintain 24x7 reliability, strengthen IT/OT segmentation, modernize legacy systems, and deliver scalable solutions that maximize operational value. Duties Lead the design, modeling, and long-term planning of OT network components, including core, distribution, and edge devices. Develop network solutions supporting CCTV, public address systems, Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC), bus radio, power, cybersecurity, and other train and bus operational systems and applications. Design OT network architecture for 24x7 operational reliability, resiliency, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity. Provide specialized technical guidance to operations teams and lead solution design for OT projects. Identify and deliver secure OT-specific solutions that address cybersecurity, safety, segmentation, availability, and business continuity requirements. Collaborate with IT teams to integrate OT and IT systems while maintaining strict network segmentation and security protocols. Develop and maintain network standards, architectural models, and reference documentation. Lead and coordinate OT network strategies, solution design workshops, and presentations to technical and management stakeholders. Evaluate networking equipment, software, and emerging technologies to recommend innovative, cost-effective solutions with measurable return on investment. Support the modernization and upgrade of legacy OT systems to create highly extensible, secure, and resilient solutions. Capture and analyze maintenance information to support network planning, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement. Work closely with Networking, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Operations, and Procurement teams to align technical solutions with operational requirements. Translate complex network modernization concepts into clear, actionable guidance for technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Mandatory Qualifications 7+ years experience designing and architecting enterprise network infrastructure, with a primary focus on Operational Technology (OT) environments. Demonstrated experience designing and modeling core, distribution, and edge network components for complex, mission-critical systems. Experience supporting 24x7 operational environments requiring high availability, resiliency, and operational continuity. Strong knowledge of OT network architecture, cybersecurity principles, network segmentation, and secure IT/OT integration. Experience developing network strategies, standards, architectural models, and technical reference documentation. Experience modernizing legacy network or OT systems and designing scalable, extensible, and resilient solutions. Ability to provide senior-level technical leadership and guidance to operations, infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams. Experience leading network solution design, strategic planning sessions, and technical workshops. Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts and present network strategies to management and cross-functional stakeholders. Desirable Qualifications Experience with transit or transportation OT systems, including CCTV, public address systems, CBTC, bus radio, power, train operations, or bus operations technologies. Experience working in safety-sensitive or highly regulated operational environments. Knowledge of network lifecycle planning, maintenance analytics, procurement coordination, and value optimization. Experience evaluating networking equipment, software, and emerging technologies to improve performance and reduce costs. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation across both OT and IT environments.
