Job Description: Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3) Salary: $22,861 - $30,000 (part-time, temporary, 40% FTE) The Couper-Owens Center for Community Schools (C-O), housed within Binghamton University's College of Community and Public Affairs (CCPA), advances the University-Assisted Community Schools (UACS) model in PK-12 schools at the local, regional, and national levels. Through strong university-school partnerships, C-O collaborates with schools to explore, develop, and implement the UACS approach. The Educational Consultant provides PK-12 expertise to the C-O team, helping build strong partnerships and support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives. This is a part-time position (10-15 hours per week) with a 12-month annual appointment. The consultant reports to the Senior Director of Capacity Building and Implementation and works closely with the C-O team to fulfill the following responsibilities:

- Serve as a consultant to the C-O team, providing expertise in New York State Education Department policies, BOCES procedures, and PK-12 educational systems.
- Consult with school leaders and their teams to address identified needs and support strategic planning.
- Develop, facilitate, and support professional learning related to University-Assisted Community Schools, family engagement, and PK-12 education.
- Support the continued growth and implementation of the Family Engagement Institute, including participation in planning meetings.
- Co-facilitate the Binghamton University Community Schools Leadership Institute for Family Engagement (BUCS LIFE).
- Participate in on-site meetings at Binghamton University and partner school districts to support family engagement action planning and implementation.
- Support the NYSED Central/Western Community Schools Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and 21st Century Community Learning Centers Technical Assistance Resource Center (TARC).
- Collaborate with school administrators and in-school and out-of-school educators to plan, develop, and implement professional learning opportunities.
- Master Degree (or higher)
- Minimum of three years' experience in teaching, school administration, or related educational leadership
- Demonstrated skills in understanding pedagogy, data-driven instruction, and/or educational regulations
- Demonstrated skills in project management, and/or problem solving
