Hiring Department University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Race, Ethnic and Gender Studies (REGS) The Race, Ethnic and Gender Studies (REGS) Department in the Schoolof Humanities and Social Sciences offers undergraduate students aninterdisciplinary education focused on understanding how race,ethnicity and gender are related to group identities andexperiences. Our courses prepare students to engage in dialogues on historicaland contemporary social dynamics both in the U.S. and abroad, andto identify opportunities for constructive future change. REGSstudents are enrolled in various majors across theuniversity. Job Description The Department of Race, Ethnic, and Gender Studies (REGS) atUniversity of Missouri-Kansas City hires adjunct instructors toteach part-time on topics related to Race, Ethnicity, Gender,Class, and Sexuality. The position involves teaching undergraduate students infoundational and/or topical courses that help them to understandthe ongoing issues in these areas. As an interdisciplinarydepartment, the instructors may come from a variety of scholarlybackgrounds. This is a part time, non-tenure track, non-benefit eligibleacademic position. The number of hours per week may vary dependingon the opportunity. The appointment period is for the semester withconsideration for reappointment. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications A M.A. or Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences isrequired. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching college/university courses at the undergraduateand/or graduate level. The REGS Department also values community service/workexperience.
