Floor Care Technician

Job Overview Primary City/State: Phoenix, Arizona Department: Environmental Services – Hospital Work Shift: Night Job Category: Facilities, Environmental Services, and Culinary Sign‑On Bonus: $1,000 (eligibility criteria to be provided by recruiter) Shift Details Full time – 40 hours per week. Day shift: 7am–3:30pm. Weekend and holiday rotations required. Flat rate $1/hour differential for weekend shifts and an 18% differential for applicable night shifts. Responsibilities Respond promptly to all requests for cleaning services via computerized and paper tracking systems. Conduct requested work such as removal, replacement, cleaning of equipment and furniture, or cleaning of an area. Maintain reports by keeping task and infection control logs of completed daily tasks and events, and documentation required for the request tracking system. Perform specialty cleaning and infection control functions in clinical areas, surgical suites, Cath labs, specialty rooms, and sterile areas, including specialized gowning and cleaning procedures for infectious elements. Maintain cleanliness and operational functioning of department equipment; notify appropriate personnel of needed repairs and log equipment usage. Assess environmental conditions to ensure the facility is neat, clean, safe, and orderly; anticipate and resolve clutter and safety issues. Provide leadership for less experienced associates; assist with on‑the‑job training in cleaning techniques, chemical usage, supply restocking, and infection control procedures. Perform scheduled floor care procedures including dust mopping, mopping, stripping and refinishing, burnishing, and carpet extraction; calculate quantities and mix ratio of cleaning chemicals. Work under regular supervision within assigned facility; engage with internal and external customers such as staff, physicians, nurses, patients, and visitors. Minimum Qualifications 1–2years of diversified environmental service work experience in a health care or institutional setting. Working knowledge of operating typical industrial cleaning equipment and using cleaning techniques appropriate to the healthcare environment. Basic math skills. Effective oral and written communication skills; able to interpret and respond appropriately to verbal and written instructions. Ability to accomplish assigned work despite frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and multitask across several projects simultaneously. Serve as a role model in customer service skills, safe work practices, and infection control including hand hygiene. Employees working at behavioral health facilities (Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, BUMG, BUMCT, BUMCS) or Olive Branch Senior Center must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Basic computer skills are helpful. Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques are preferred. Additional related education and/or experience is preferred.
