Performance Test Engineer

A financial services organization is seeking a Performance Test Engineer to support the delivery of high-performing web and mobile applications in Vienna, VA. This hybrid role focuses on performance testing, automation, and analysis to help ensure scalability, reliability, and production readiness.

About the Opportunity:

Shift: Day shift
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: Standard business
Setting: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute end-to-end performance test strategies, plans, scripts, and scenarios
Perform load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing to validate application performance and production readiness
Build, maintain, and enhance automated performance testing frameworks and scripts
Analyze test results to identify bottlenecks, system constraints, and optimization opportunities
Partner with cross-functional teams to support performance testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

4+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing or performance engineering
Experience designing and executing load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing
Experience building and maintaining automated performance test scripts using JavaScript or a similar scripting language
Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as NeoLoad or comparable platforms
Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Azure App Insights or Splunk
Experience with Azure DevOps or a similar test management platform
Experience with Postman
Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Desired Skills:

Experience with WireMock or other service virtualization tools
Understanding of functional testing
Experience working within distributed microservices and cloud-native architectures
