If you're excited about shaping the future of how brands grow in the age of AI, you'll thrive here.Your RoleIn this role, you'll build the backend systems that power our core product experience - from APIs and business logic to the data flows and integrations behind AI-native workflows. We're looking for a product-minded backend engineer who can translate complex requirements into clean, scalable services and help turn cutting-edge AI capabilities into reliable, intuitive software for customers.You'll contribute directly to core product development and partner closely with product, design, and engineering to build systems that are thoughtful, performant, and built for iteration. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning backend problems end to end, thrives in ambiguity, and is excited to help define what great AI-native product development looks like from the backend out.You should be excited by AI-native product experiences, energized by ambiguity, and already heavily using AI tools and LLMs in your own workflow to operate with greater leverage.ResponsibilitiesOwn and build key backend systems that power Evertune's product experienceDesign, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and application logic in PythonShip product-facing backend features that support customer workflows, insights, and AI-driven experiencesDesign resilient APIs, optimize backend performance, and improve system reliability as product usage growsIntegrate and test third-party APIs, including LLM providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and othersCollaborate closely with product, design, and engineering to turn complex requirements into clean, reliable systemsModel and manage data in ways that support evolving product needs and scalable application developmentDebug and troubleshoot issues across backend services, integrations, and production systemsInfluence backend architecture and technical decisions that help the team move quickly and sustainablyContribute to a team culture that values speed, craft, ownership, and candorRequirementsMust currently be located in the NYC, Denver, or Seattle area and able to work in-office 2-3x/week7+ years of experience building and shipping production software for user-facing or B2B products, with substantial depth in backend engineeringExperience building scalable backend systems in Python or similar languages, with Python highly preferredStrong fundamentals in system design, data modeling, testing, debugging, and performance optimizationTrack record of building reliable product-facing services and integrations that directly support customer workflowsComfortable working across APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, observability, and CI/CDStrong product instinct and a collaborative approach to working with product, design, and frontend engineersAI-forward and actively using AI tools / LLMs to improve speed, quality, and engineering leverageStrong communication skills, technical judgment, and comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environmentNice to HaveExperience building analytics products, data-heavy applications, or complex B2B workflowsExperience integrating and operating LLM or generative AI systems in productionFamiliarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databasesExperience with event-driven systems, queues, or streaming architecturesFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure, containerized services, or infrastructure-as-codeEarly-stage startup or high-growth company experienceCulture & ValuesAt Evertune, we're building more than just groundbreaking AI products – we're building a culture where speed, insight and humanity go hand in hand. Salary is just one part of our total compensation package that includes equity, perks & benefits, and development opportunities at Evertune AI. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity relative to other Evertune AI employees.
