ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-performing team. The position involves working with a diverse adult and geriatric patient population, offering a range of acute medical care in an intensive care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing conditions such as sepsis, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
• Manage patients on ventilators and tracheostomy care, ensuring optimal respiratory support.
• Administer care for patients undergoing dialysis and those recovering from strokes post-tissue plasminogen activator (TPA) treatment.
• Monitor patients in cardiogenic shock and care for patients during and after surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement care plans and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications are required; CCRN certification is preferred.
• Previous ventilator management experience is essential.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and medication dispensing systems, including Pyxis and EPIC.

Work Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15).
• Every other weekend required.
• Some floating may be required within the facility and to sister locations.

Holidays

Travelers are expected to work one major holiday during their assignment period. If two major holidays fall during their assignment, they are expected to work both. If three major holidays occur, they will work at least two of them. Major holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Clinical Screening

Candidates will undergo a clinical screening process to evaluate suitability. Upon successful completion, candidates will be forwarded to management for the final decision.

Additional Information

Local candidates are welcome to apply and will receive the same rate as travelers. The number of non-billable orientation hours is dependent on the contract length.
