This role is responsible for maintaining governance artifacts, improving data quality, documenting metadata, supporting stewardship activities, and ensuring governance standards are consistently applied across business domains.The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with attention to detail and enjoys working with business and technical teams to improve the quality, consistency, and usability of enterprise data assets.Responsibilities – Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this roleExecute established data governance processes, policies, standards, and controlsSupport enterprise governance initiatives through the completion of governance activities and deliverablesFollow and apply governance methodologies, templates, and best practicesCreate, maintain, and update business metadata, technical metadata, business glossary entries, and data catalog contentDocument business definitions, data ownership information, stewardship assignments, and data lineageMaintain governance repositories, standards documentation, and supporting materialsPerform data quality assessments and validation activitiesMonitor data quality metrics, analyze results, and identify data issuesSupport root-cause analysis and remediation efforts for data quality challengesExecute testing and validation activities related to governed data assetsPartner with Data Governance Managers and subject matter experts to capture business knowledge and requirements.Prepare governance documentation and recommendations for review and approvalPopulate and maintain enterprise data catalogs and governance platformsSupport data classification, critical data element identification, and ownership alignment activitiesMaintain documentation and metadata associated with governed data assetsSupport governance communications, training materials, and awareness activitiesContribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of governance practices and deliverablesQualificationsA minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant or 5 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or a related fieldFoundational understanding of governance concepts, metadata, and data quality managementExperience working with business and technical stakeholders to support data-related effortsStrong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilityEffective communication and collaboration skillsA minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
