Paraprofessional - Up to $23.50/hr

We are seeking Teacher Assistants/TAs/Paraprofessionals for our year‑round day school located in Geneva, IL. Hours are 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday‑Friday. Hourly rate for Life Skills: $20.00 with no experience; $21.00 with 2 years of experience; up to $22.50 with 5 years or more. Hourly rate with a Bachelor’s Degree: $21.00 with no experience; $22.00 with 2 years of experience; up to $23.50 with 5 years or more. About the School Marklund Day School is a non‑public, state‑certified school that partners with area school districts to provide a highly specialized education experience. The therapeutic, sensory‑driven Multi‑Needs Program serves individuals ages 3–21 with medical, developmental, and physical disabilities. The Life Skills Program provides individualized functional curriculum and supports for students diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, specific learning disabilities, and developmental disabilities. Summary of Duties Assist teachers with classwork and the daily care of students with special needs. Provide direct care, attend in‑services and other educational functions as required. Keep equipment in the classroom clean and provide safe physical environments for all students. Document all goals/program including the daily participation records after completion of a task with a student. Work directly with the students one‑on‑one and in groups outlined in the IEPs. Pass PCM (behavior management) training successfully. Qualifications Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license is required. It can be obtained after being hired within 30 days, and the employer offers a $500 bonus for obtaining it. Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and meet its functional and environmental requirements.
