About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified IMC RN in Des Moines, Iowa, 50325!

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care / Stepdown unit setting with patient ratios of 1:5-6 across a 25-bed unit
• Care for a diverse patient population including post-TNK, orthopedic, cranio-neurosurgery, laminectomy, and polytrauma patients
• Administer and manage drips and titrations including Heparin infusions, PCAs, and 3% sodium
• Operate and interpret unit equipment including telemetry, chest tubes, Airvo, and lift equipment
• Float across multiple campuses as needed to support staffing across affiliated medical centers
• Participate in required winter holiday coverage (1-2 of 3 upcoming holidays, unless unit is closed)

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• Minimum 24 months of current Stepdown, Progressive Care, or Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Neuro/neurology care experience required
• Orthopedic care experience required
• Experience with lift equipment, telemetry, chest tubes, and Airvo required
• Experience administering Heparin infusions and PCAs required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• NIHSS certification required (may be obtained during onboarding)
• Must have completed at least one travel nursing contract within the previous 12 months - first-time travelers are not eligible
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (verified by driver's license)

• Trauma care experience highly preferred
• Experience administering 3% sodium preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
