Returns Specialist

JOB SUMMARY - The Returns Specialist supports daily purchasing operations by collecting units marked for return, facilitatingthe part movement, vendor return requests, vendor communications, and strategic decisions to resolve returns in the most effective means for the company and the suppliers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Track open orders and follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery
- Verify return eligibility (warranty, wrong item, damaged in transit, etc.)
- Process RMAs and return faulty/incorrect items in a timely manner
- Manage important vendor relationships & troubleshoot issues
- Take pictures of units marked for return and send along with our reasoning for returning
- Identify cost-saving opportunities (pricing, freight, substitutions, vendor changes)
- Evaluate surplus inventory and coordinate liquidation/surplus part bids
- Support quality issues by documenting defects and coordinating corrective actions
- Provide strong internal customer support to service/production/warehouse teams
- Maintain a returns log/tracker with status, aging, and resolution notes
- Report recurring vendor quality issues and trends to Purchasing
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong data analysis skills (Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs
- Standing/bending/reaching for product inspection
