Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
Aya Healthcare
Echocardiographer (Echo Tech) – Full-Time (Weekdays Only)
Ditch the relentless treadmill of high-volume cardiac centers and grueling emergency call schedules.
We are a small, community-centered Critical Access Hospital (CAH) in Michigan's breathtaking Upper Peninsula. We believe that top-tier cardiac imaging requires focus, precision, and a clear mind—not a rushed schedule.
This role is tailored for a slower, more rewarding pace of life. You will work standard weekdays only—with absolutely no nights, no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call responsibilities. Here, you are given the time to capture meticulous images, treat patients like neighbors, and completely unplug when your shift ends.
What You Will Do
Perform quality echos: Conduct comprehensive adult transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and stress echocardiograms with exceptional detail.
Prioritize patient comfort: Guide patients through their exams calmly, answering questions and minimizing anxiety without a corporate clock ticking.
Partner with physicians: Collaborate directly with our close-knit medical staff and reading cardiologists to deliver critical diagnostic data.
Manage digital studies: Utilize our PACS system to archive images, preliminary findings, and maintain a seamless workflow.
Protect local hearts: Serve as the dedicated cardiac imaging expert for our tight-knit rural community.
Why You Will Love It Here
Guaranteed work-life balance: Protect your sanity with a schedule that leaves your evenings, weekends, and holidays completely free.
Quality over quantity: Enjoy a manageable daily patient volume that allows you to focus on the science and art of scanning.
The U.P. lifestyle: Walk out of work at the end of the day with plenty of daylight left to hike, kayak, ski, or explore the great outdoors.
A stress-free environment: Swap gridlock traffic and multi-level hospital parking decks for a peaceful, scenic drive through nature.
Competitive CAH benefits: Receive excellent health insurance, strong retirement matching, and generous paid time off.
What We Are Looking For
Education: Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound or diagnostic medical sonography program.
Certification: ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) registered or registry-eligible.
Credentials: Current BLS certification.
Mindset: A skilled, autonomous scanner who values clinical excellence and a balanced, low-stress lifestyle.
Experience: Seasoned echo techs looking to slow down or motivated new graduates seeking a supportive environment are welcome.
