This is an onsite role and will be part of the Production Operations Team in our Hemet, CA location. This is a Day Shift position. Overtime and weekends may be required.

This is an indoor industrial work environment with good ventilation, adequate lighting, and low to moderate noise levels. Employees will be required to wear the proper, employer provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include eye protection, steel toe shoes and gloves as needed.

Reporting to the Focus Factory Supervisor, the Welder III performs surface preparation, brazing, metal cutting and welding using saws, presses, gas and electric welding equipment to fabricate flow meters.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Receives instructions, prints and workorders for each job. Plans details of working procedures, tools and material requirements.
  • Fabricates flow meters and components or structures by cutting, bending, burning and welding various metals by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
  • Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles and tacks welded parts.
  • Builds up worn or defective surfaces when appropriate.
  • Uses burning equipment and saws to dismantle assemblies or parts and to cut material to size and shape as vital.
  • Checks own work for conformance to prescribed standards and measurements using a variety of measuring instruments.
  • Uses knowledge of equipment, work processes and safety practices to work efficiently and safely. Observes and follows all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work area and ensures accurate handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent loss.
  • Observes and follows all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Operates powered industrial truck (forklift) to load and unload material.
  • Maintains a dedication to collaboration and a positive, encouraging demeanor to all personnel.
  • Supports continuous improvement activities (VES).

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; vocational/specialized training preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of welding experience is required.
  • Successful completion of formal in-house welding and completion of recognized welding certification program required.
  • Successful demonstration of competence in the following skills as determined through visual observation by the Team Leader, Manufacturing Manager or Supervisor:
    • MIG welding on vertical, horizontal and overhead planes, both stationery and turntable.
    • TIG welding on at least one of vertical, horizontal and overhead planes, stationary.
    • Oxy-Acetylene cutting torch.

  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, specifications, blueprints or work orders required.
  • Ability to drive or be trained to drive forklift.

  • Enthusiastically participates in all VES activities related to position.

  • Optimally manages time/projects. Demonstrates flexibility and resourcefulness.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $28.00 - $32.00 USD per hour.
