Position Title: Surveillance Repair Technician

Department: Surveillance

Reports to: Surveillance Director

Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Status: Regular, Full Time

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensures the security and safety of guests, employees, cash and physical assets of the Casino and Tribe by maintaining appropriate camera equipment, network recorders, network switches, and low voltage wiring within the Surveillance Department and Tribal properties. The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures all equipment used by the Surveillance department is functioning and repaired within allotted time requirements;
  • Perform maintenance (installations, movements, monitors, PC’s, network equipment, etc.) and clean all Surveillance equipment;
  • Physically install cameras, network, fiber, and alarm cable as needed;
  • Responsible for maintaining all equipment, repair and maintenance logs in conjunction with MICS requirements;
  • Assist with training of Surveillance personnel on the use of equipment;
  • Report immediately any suspicious or unusual activities to Management of proper authorities;
  • Ensures all information is shared with the next shift;
  • Maintain high confidentiality standards at all times. Is required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment;
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the Surveillance Director, Surveillance Manager, and the Gaming Commissioners;
  • May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic Network knowledge;
  • Certified Fiber Installer certification;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux operating systems;
  • Ability to perform assigned duties in highly interruptive conditions and under constant time pressures;
  • Ability to communicate well, verbally and written.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education : Must be a high school graduate or its equivalent;
  • Experience : One (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training;
  • Licensing: Must be eighteen (18) years of age;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Key Gaming License.

SUPERVISORIAL DUTIES: None

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Strong PC knowledge (hardware and software) with familiarity with Linux operating systems;
  • Knowledge of modern surveillance equipment and security, first aid and fire safety procedures;
  • Competency with low voltage wiring, general carpentry machinery and tools;
  • Demonstrates correct use of safety equipment, i.e., protective clothing, lifting techniques, ladder and hydraulic lift equipment;
  • Proficiency in performing maintenance on all surveillance equipment;
  • Dedicated hard worker with ability to report to work on a daily basis.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Will be required to stand for extended periods of time;
  • Will be required to lift weights, bend, reach, push and pull;
  • Will be required to work in open heights and on hydraulic lifts;
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to (25-50) pounds.

  • Will be significantly exposed to a smoke-filled, noisy environment.
