Independence Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Salem, Oregon. This full-time remote position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized care to individuals affected by trauma. As a key member of our outpatient mental health team, you will contribute to the recovery and resilience of our patients, guiding them on their journey toward healing.

Work Environment\nThis position is primarily remote, providing flexibility within a structured outpatient framework. The typical work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories and formulate appropriate treatment strategies. \n
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on recovery, coping strategies, and resilience-building targeted to each patient's unique needs. \n
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities including, but not limited to, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing. \n
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated care, coordinating efforts to promote patient well-being. \n
- Provide crisis intervention services and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies, effectively managing acute situations with professionalism and empathy. \n
- Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available community resources to enhance recovery. \n
- Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring the integrity of patient records. \n
- Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance our trauma-informed care approach. \n
- Remain updated on the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy, bringing innovative techniques into therapeutic sessions. \n
The patients we serve are primarily individuals who have experienced trauma in various forms. They may include trauma survivors dealing with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our organization’s mission is to support these clients through evidence-based practices, offering them a pathway to recovery by fostering resilience and emotional health.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Oregon. \n
- A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience relevant to mental health counseling, particularly with trauma-focused modalities. \n
- Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed treatment methodologies, and resilience-building techniques. \n
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care. \n
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and typical computer applications necessary for effective practice. \n
- Ability to work collaboratively and engage effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting. \n
While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with extensive backgrounds in trauma therapy and crisis interventions will be given preference. Familiarity with community resources for trauma survivors and involvement in continuing education related to trauma-informed care will also enhance a candidate’s potential in this role.
Compensation and Benefits\nThe salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 90,000 and USD 110,000 annually.
