The Heart Care Glendale Clinic is located at 6220 W. Bell Rd, Glendale, AZ 85308. The hours are Monday‑Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Responsibilities The RN’s practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics. The RN has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served. The RN records patients’ medical history and symptoms, helps perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operates medical equipment, administers treatment and medications, and assists with patient follow‑up and rehabilitation. The RN establishes or contributes to a care plan, which may include activities such as medication administration (with careful dosage checks and avoidance of interactions), starting, maintaining, and discontinuing intravenous (IV) lines for fluid, medication, blood, and blood products, administering therapies and treatments, observing the patient and recording observations, and consulting with physicians and other health‑care clinicians. The RN teaches patients and their families how to manage illnesses or injuries, explains post‑treatment and home‑care needs, diet, nutrition, exercise programs, and self‑administration of medication and therapy. The RN provides direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides regarding patient care and delegates appropriate tasks. The RN supports efforts to advance clinical knowledge and skills, precepts new‑hire staff and students, and assists them in completing competency tasks. The RN continually enhances knowledge in nursing management and patient care as required, and may further improve the patient experience. Essential Functions Possesses the knowledge of systematic health data collection, prioritizing data as determined by the patient’s immediate condition, and involving the family. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses and utilize nursing diagnoses to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise patient care plans that are family‑centered, developmentally and age‑appropriate, and culturally relevant. Identifies individualized expected outcomes and develops plans reflecting current evidence‑based practice, ensuring continuity of care. Implements interventions and initiates treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures based on standing orders, policies, and procedures. Provides nursing care to meet physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs of patients and families using a family‑centered approach. Evaluates patient progress, documents observations and interventions, and provides ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of care plans to enhance outcomes and promote cost‑effective, high‑quality healthcare. Evaluates nursing practice relative to professional standards, statutes, and system policies, maintains current knowledge, systematically evaluates quality of practice, integrates ethical principles, and enhances cultural competency. Collaborates with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Facilitates evidence‑based improvements, participates in research, and considers safety, effectiveness, and cost in patient care delivery. Education All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire or have five or more years of registered nurse experience (including direct or indirect RN roles) at the time of hire. All staff must hold an Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing. Direct‑care staff for stroke patients must refer to the stroke‑specific education addendum prior to start. A bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is required; a BSN is preferred. Experience More than ten months in a med‑surg or acute specialty setting; one year RN experience for all float positions; required experience and competency in stroke‑specific care as outlined above. Licensing & Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona (or in a state under the RN Compact). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including completion of a BLS training course and unit‑specific certification as required by specialty area. National certification for the unit‑specific patient population is required; preferred certifications are those relevant to advanced practice and specialty care.
