Job Description The Float Pool Nursing Department is a dynamic and versatile team of highly skilled registered nurses who provide essential staffing support across multiple units within the healthcare system. These nurses are cross‑trained in various specialties and are deployed to areas experiencing increased patient volume, staffing shortages, or emergent needs. They bring flexibility, adaptability, and clinical expertise to each assignment, ensuring continuity of care and upholding the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction. Responsibilities Maintain the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance. Qualifications Required qualifications At least 5 years of pediatric critical care (PICU) or neonatal critical care (NICU) RN experience. Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Licensure/Certifications Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California. Active American Heart Association CPR Certification. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
