Estimator

We are partnering with an established Queens-based General Contracting and Real Estate Development firm with a long track record delivering ground-up affordable, mixed-income and multifamily housing developments across the five boroughs and greater metro area. They are currently seeking a full-time Estimator to join their Preconstruction team, responsible for conceptualizing and interpreting scope of work from both schematic and complete detailed documents, and supporting the successful delivery of design-phase services. Location: NYC (travel within NYC required) Project Size: $10M–$100M+ Project Type: Affordable Housing / Mixed-Income / Multifamily Scale: Ground-up new construction This role is ideal for a detail-oriented Estimator from a General Contractor background who is comfortable working across civil, architectural and structural scopes on ground-up housing projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Estimating Manager and wider Preconstruction team to produce accurate, well-supported estimates that carry projects from conceptual pricing through to award. Key Responsibilities: Perform both conceptual and detailed estimating on civil, architectural and structural portions of projects ranging from $10M to $100M+ Work with the Estimating Manager to prepare conceptual estimates Produce quantitative surveys and accurate pricing to support a Lump Sum Price Coordinate project documents across all delivery methods Lead detailed reviews of civil, architectural and structural subcontractor scope prior to contract award Obtain and present unit pricing data Outline clarifications and qualifications within an estimate Provide backup documentation for estimates used during analysis and review Requirements: Minimum 5–7 years' estimating experience General Contractor background required — developer-side or subcontractor-only experience alone will not be considered Experience estimating ground-up affordable and/or multifamily housing projects in the NYC metro market preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent required Proficiency with estimating programs such as On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, or Bluebeam, and SAGE 300 Estimating Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent leadership and communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team What's on Offer: Long-term pipeline of NYC affordable and multifamily housing projects High level of involvement across the preconstruction/estimating process Stable leadership team with strong industry reputation Collaborative, hands-on company culture Health, dental and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid time off, tuition reimbursement and paid family leave #J-18808-Ljbffr GH Engage
