Overview
Position: Platform Software Engineer
Commitment: Full-time
Compensation: $185K–$300K per year + performance bonuses (up to 40% of base) + equity options
Role
- Build and scale platforms that support Mercor’s mission to create a billion jobs through AI-driven hiring technology.
- Own the reliability, scaling, and optimisation of Mercor’s database infrastructure (RDBMS + Document Stores).
- Advocate for and implement best practices in storage design, schema optimization, and database reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and scale schemas for both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Optimise database performance using indexing, partitioning, and sharding strategies.
- Anticipate and solve storage challenges to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to integrate platforms with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
- Develop solutions in Python and Go, using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Serve as an internal advocate for database best practices and reliability standards.
- Contribute to overall platform engineering strategies that will support rapid company growth.
