Platform Engineer

Overview Position: Platform Software Engineer Commitment: Full-time Compensation: $185K–$300K per year + performance bonuses (up to 40% of base) + equity options Role Build and scale platforms that support Mercor’s mission to create a billion jobs through AI-driven hiring technology. Own the reliability, scaling, and optimisation of Mercor’s database infrastructure (RDBMS + Document Stores). Advocate for and implement best practices in storage design, schema optimization, and database reliability. Responsibilities Design, manage, and scale schemas for both SQL and NoSQL databases. Optimise database performance using indexing, partitioning, and sharding strategies. Anticipate and solve storage challenges to ensure scalability and reliability. Collaborate with internal engineering teams to integrate platforms with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred). Develop solutions in Python and Go, using Terraform for infrastructure as code. Serve as an internal advocate for database best practices and reliability standards. Contribute to overall platform engineering strategies that will support rapid company growth.
