Assistant Golf Professional

About the Position The Assistant Golf Professional assists in the management of day-to-day golf operations at the facility. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of member and guest service with a focus on total customer satisfaction. This position is designed to provide the necessary exposure, experience and preparation for the individual to pursue future growth and development within the golf industry. This position reports to: Sr. Director, Golf About Grey Oaks Country Club Considered one of the premier country clubs in Florida, Grey Oaks opened in 1993 and encompasses the Grey Oaks and Estuary communities, along with 54 holes of championship golf. The Club’s facilities include: A 63,000-square-foot East Clubhouse A 12,000-square-foot golf pro shop, newly renovated in 2025 A Golf Performance Center A 30,000-square-foot wellness center and sports complex renovated in 2024 The Pool Café, a 22,000-square-foot facility with indoor and outdoor dining, overlooking a resort-style pool with a wading entrance, waterfall, and lap lanes. The Estuary also features a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse with indoor/outdoor dining overlooking the golf course, a pro‑golf shop, and men's and women's lockers. Primary Responsibilities Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always maintain a professional image Service and customer focused attitude Greet all members and guests by name and in a professional and friendly manner Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills Work with and assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments Assist with all opening and closing procedures and POS operation Accurately manage the North Star tee time system Assist with all golf shop merchandising and display creations Self‑motivated with desire to promote and market golf shop merchandise Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including ordering procedures, receiving procedures, point of sale transactions, pricing procedures, display and sales Assist in managing facility tournament operations Proficiency in the operation of tournament software (Golf Genius preferred, but not mandatory) Assist in tournament planning, promotion, preparation, scoring, announcements, billing, and follow‑up Assist with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved Assist in managing golf car fleet operation, practice facility, and club storage service Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community Provide golf instruction and play with members and guests upon request Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly and ensure a safe workplace for the team All other duties as assigned by management Additional Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to keep issues confidential; a master of discretion Proficient with MS Office and related software including email, internet, tournament, database & POS Must be able to lift 50 lbs Education / Experience Position requires a minimum PGA Class A‑8 membership or enrolled and working toward certification A bachelor's degree desirable but not required Experience working at high‑end private clubs or in the hospitality industry desired Compensation & Benefits Grey Oaks offers a competitive compensation package, including: 401(k) plan with generous employer match Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits A positive, team‑oriented work environment Opportunities for professional development alongside top industry professionals Grey Oaks is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug‑Free Workplace. #J-18808-Ljbffr GREY OAKS COUNTRY CLUB
