Ag TechnicianVan Wall Equipment is looking for an Ag Technician to perform diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment. Candidate should have the expertise to use the appropriate tools to successfully diagnose and repair most John Deere equipment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDiagnose problems and determine what repairs are neededPerform any inspections as requiredRepair, service, and assemble any machinesCheck and report any shortages and malfunctions to the Service ManagerMaintain and care for all shop tools, machines, and equipmentComplete dis-assembly and inspection, as efficiently as possible, so parts may be ordered and machine work can be scheduled promptlyMaintain records and account for all time, parts, and supplies used in repairing and servicing both customer and dealership equipmentDocument each job by recording unit serial number and hour meter readingParticipate in-service training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeReport to Service Manager any additional work required to ensure proper operation and safety of the equipmentMaintain a clean and safe shop facility and environmentMaintain and care for shop tools, equipment, vehicles, and other employee's belongingsStay current with technical changesHelp the dealership by participating in special programs, such as sales of service packages, demonstration programs, etcRepresent the dealership as a professional Service Technician at all timesMust obtain core training through JDU and keep it in good standing by continuing education with a minimum of one Q-Diagnostic class every 5 yearsPosition Qualifications1+ years of experience performing service repairsAbility to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual proceduresProficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipmentAbility to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesProficient oral and written communication skillsAbility to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedlyBasic Service Technician certifications preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferredValid driver's license is required
