Regional driving means being home 1-3 days per week, but the specific days may vary. This position requires availability for a 24/7 operation, offering flexible time off while ensuring deliveries meet customer needs.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate tanker trucks to transport liquid bulk materials to and from customer locations across the designated region.Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.Load and unload tanker trucks, sometimes using hoses or pumps, adhering to all safety protocols.Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inspections, and any incidents.Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules.Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.Maintain a steady workload by meeting the required mileage or hours to contribute to the overall success of the operationQualificationsAltom Transport maintains strict driver qualifications and a safety-first culture to ensure professional, compliant, and well-supported operations. Requirements and safety standards include:Valid CDL Class A LicenseTanker Endorsement (N) – RequiredHazmat Endorsement (H) – Preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available)TWIC Card – Preferred (or must obtain after hire)Minimum 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experienceAt least 23 years of ageClean MVR and strong safety recordAble to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background checkDependable, safety-minded, and capable of working independentlyWilling to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations if neededRigorous onboarding and new hire safety training through the Safety DepartmentMandatory quarterly safety meetings throughout the fleetStrict Driver Vetting & Qualification Process Includes:Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tanker experience within the last 5 yearsNo DUI/OWI on record within the last 5 yearsCannot be prohibited in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol ClearinghouseNo at-fault/preventable fatal or rollover accidents in the last 5 yearsNo more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 yearsNo more than 2 CSA moving violations in the last 18 monthsNo falsification on the driver applicationMust hold a current X endorsementMinimum 1-week in-person new hire trainingQuarterly mandatory safety meetings with employeesHM 232 Compliance & Emergency Response Plan providedGeneral Awareness testing in accordance with 49 CFR 172-part HDrug & Alcohol Policy and DOT Compliance programForward-facing cameras on all Altom and contractor equipmentGoverned company equipmentIncident & Accident Investigation Program (driver reporting + injury investigations)RCMS Certified / HSE policyPPE provided, including replacement policy guidelinesBenefitsMedical & Dental insurance through BlueCross BlueShield.Vision coverage through VSP.Employer-provided Life and AD&D insurance ($25,000 coverage).Up to 20 days of PTO in your first year.401(k) plan with company match — fully vested on Day 1.A supportive, family-oriented workplace where your hard work is appreciated.
