Distribution Center Associate I

1100 International Pkwy, Sunrise , Florida 33323 , United States Job Description Job Overview The Distribution Center Associate I is responsible for preparing all customer order types (store replenishments and E-Commerce) including but not limited to product selection, staging, internal replenishments, and sorting. Other duties could include receiving, stocking and general housekeeping. All associates are responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by following all safety policies and standards and completing specified safety training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Select product accurately and damage free. Select product in an efficient manner while meeting appropriate productivity expectations and standards. Ensure product and or tote is properly labeled. Follow all distribution center standard operating procedures, (SOP). Operate a manual pallet jack. Operate and use multiple shipping applications to support company E-Commerce platform. Ensure work area remains clean and safe, while following all safety practices. Maintain proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe lifting techniques. Perform other duties that do not involve any power equipment (MHE) within the distribution center. Assist with physical inventory and other inventory related items. Requirements Qualifications Ability to work weekends, holidays Able to work Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States. Must be able to continuously stand or walk and be able lift /handle/carry product or equipment of moderate weight ( Competencies Well organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Results oriented, with an ability to accomplish goals. Performing all duties safely Work in a team environment Ability to work successfully under the pressure while meeting deadlines. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent certification preferred. 6+ months of warehouse or retail experience preferred. Computer or other skills Computer skills including Outlook, and basic functions such as using a printer, mouse, and keyboard. Use of a calculator and the ability to perform simple math Ability to operate scanner. Read, write, and identify and verify numbers. Environmental Factors/Physical Demands In the course of employment, the employee may be given access to business information, customer and/or personnel information, and other company policies, which Pet Supermarket regards confidential and requests that such information remains confidential. Work is performed in a warehouse environment. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer/vendor and employee communication.
