Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and patient test records maintenance.
• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures.
• Maintains proficiency and competency in performance for the testing menu of the department.
• Adheres to laboratory quality control policies and documents all quality control activities.
• Performs instrument calibration and maintenance.
• Follows laboratory procedures when test systems are not within established acceptable levels of performance.
• Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and notifies proper personnel.
• Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established specifications.
• Properly disposes of all bio-hazardous materials and prepares solutions and reagents in accordance with standard procedure
• Participates in regulatory agency inspection readiness and onsite inspections.
• Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind the work assignments of this position as business needs warrant .

Requirements

Education / Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Appropriate certification based on assigned department.

• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness to maintain confidential information
