Certified Medical Assistant - Lab/Float

General Requirements Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program Current CMA, RMA or similar certification Active CPR/BLS Certification Knowledge of women's health terminology and procedures Experience performing venipuncture and finger sticks Ability to handle high patient volume lab draws Proper specimen handling for time-sensitive test Essential Functions and Responsibilities Cleaning and setting up exam rooms with appropriate instruments Preparing patient exams Taking vitals and pregnancy-related monitoring Assist in cleaning instruments per protocol Drawing blood for prenatal screening panels, genetic testing, glucose tolerance testing Processing and labeling specimens accurately Maintaining lab supplies and equipment Documenting patient information in EHR system Educating patients Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality Strong communication skills Skills Required Clinical - taking vitals, assisting with procedures, administering injections Lab - collecting, preparing and processing specimens Understanding lab tests and requirements Strong computer skills and ability to adapt to current office technology Strong verbal and written communication skills Good attention to detail Qualifications CMA, RMA or similar certification with phlebotomy experience CPR/BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification #J-18808-Ljbffr
