Career Advisor

We are hiring a Career Advisor to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow‑up services under the supervision of the WIOA Program Lead. The position is full‑time, 100% onsite. Key Responsibilities Provide information and case management services to the community and eligible WIOA participants. Collaborate with the Intake Specialist to complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce program. Assess job seekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods. Act as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners. Enter data into VOS and other participant information systems as required. Guide job seekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP). Stay current on labor market trends and best practices. Counsel clients on job opportunities, training programs, and other services. Refer individuals to appropriate services and follow up on those activities. Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and group presentations. Maintain accurate individual case files and ensure compliance with eligibility documentation. Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks. Participate in staff events, training, staff meetings, and supervision. Complete all reports within the data management system. Approach tasks with a “ZAG” mindset. Perform other duties and projects as needed for program success. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication skills and knowledge of community resources. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make well‑thought‑out decisions. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; ability to learn specialized databases and software systems. Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base and demonstrate cultural sensitivity. Ability to serve as a role model and motivate customers toward goals. Time‑management, customer‑service, organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, flexible, proactive environment while maintaining confidentiality. Knowledgeable about the local region and relevant partners. Bilingual or multilingual is preferred. A valid driver’s license. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $40,000 – $45,000 per year, based on experience. Full‑time, non‑exempt position. Travel requirement: up to 30% of time may require local travel.
