Job Summary

We are seeking a Banker for a direct hire opportunity in La Jolla, CA. This role is ideal for a banking professional with teller, new accounts, and client service experience who enjoys building customer relationships, recommending financial products, and supporting daily branch operations.

Depending on experience, candidates may be considered for Client Service Representative II, Client Service Representative III, or Senior Client Service Representative level responsibilities. The Banker will assist consumer and business clients with account openings, teller transactions, account maintenance, product recommendations, and service requests while helping the branch meet customer satisfaction, retention, and growth goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Open, maintain, and close consumer accounts, business accounts, CDs, IRAs, and other deposit products based on experience level.
- Interview and profile clients to identify needs, recommend appropriate banking products, and cross-sell services that support client goals.
- Process teller transactions as needed while maintaining accurate documentation, compliance standards, and strong balancing performance.
- Respond to client inquiries in person and by phone with professionalism, accuracy, and a high level of customer service.
- Partner with branch leadership and internal business lines to identify referral opportunities and support branch growth.
- Maintain knowledge of banking regulations, new account procedures, proper account titling, required documentation, and Bank Secrecy Act requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay range: $20.00 to $28.60 per hour.
- Location: La Jolla, CA.
- Minimum of 10 hours of CRA volunteer time per year, typically scheduled during business hours as compensable time, with mileage reimbursed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Open and support new consumer accounts and business accounts based on assigned CSR level.
- Process teller transactions, account maintenance, documentation uploads, and client service requests.
- Cross-sell banking products and refer clients to appropriate internal partners.
- Support compliance with banking procedures, BSA requirements, information security standards, and applicable regulations.

- Minimum of 1 year of banking teller experience required for CSR II level consideration.
- Minimum of 2 years of banking teller experience required for CSR III level consideration.
- Minimum of 3 years of banking teller experience required for Senior CSR III level consideration.
- Experience opening consumer accounts is required.
- Experience opening basic business accounts is required for CSR III level and preferred for CSR II level.
- Advanced experience opening consumer accounts and complex business accounts is required for Senior CSR III level.
- Strong customer relations skills with the ability to communicate clearly and work cooperatively with clients and team members.
- Working knowledge of basic banking regulations, including BSA and information security requirements.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, handle confidential information, and accept responsibility for accurate work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and banking systems or core banking programs.
- Professional, positive, and service-oriented approach to client interactions, including the ability to resolve difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior supervisory experience for Senior CSR III level consideration.
- Experience with Trust and Estate accounts.
- Experience supporting Treasury Services such as remote deposit capture, armored service, or courier service.
- Experience approving large transactions, providing supervisor overrides, or supporting branch leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to identify at-risk customers, retain client relationships, and contribute to branch profitability goals.
