Paraprofessional with Student Transportation

Paraprofessional Who Provides Student TransportationAs a Paraprofessional who provides Student Transportation with The Menta Education Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school. You will also provide student transportation to and from school, using school equipment (van or bus).Approximate Hours with Paraprofessional shift and transportation route are 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. range (depends upon the transportation route) Mon-Fri, following a school calendar.Required: Valid Driver's License with an insurable driving record.Required: Type "P" Passenger Endorsement on Driver's LicensePreferred, but not Required: CDL-BResponsibilitiesProvide Paraprofessional supportManage classroom behaviorsProvide regular, before & after school student transportation (to and from school) and also "as needed" transportation during school hours.Report behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staffImplement and maintain behavioral program policies and dataMaintain classroom order and safety (Security)Provide general supervision of students inside the school settingAssist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behaviorMaintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or to be a safety concern and correct and report these conditionsRespond to emergency situationsProvide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviorsThink quickly, independently, and tactfullyQualificationsValid Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement or ability to obtain a Passenger EndorsementPreferred but not required CDL-BMust be Age 23 or OlderHigh School Diploma or EquivalentParaprofessional Certification is ideal, but not requiredAbsolutely must be punctual and have good attendanceHave an established work history of transportation and demonstrated length-of-stay in jobsMust have patience and a willingness to work with students that require behavior and emotional supportMust Have Acceptable Motor Vehicle RecordPass drug and criminal background screening proceduresCompensation & BenefitsIn accordance with the Pay Transparency amendment to the Illinois Equal Pay Act of 2003, information about pay ranges and employee benefits can be found at the following links:Compensation Information: refer to the "Classroom Support" section for this position's categoryOur benefits package includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off (PTO); and a 403(b) retirement plan with an employer match.
