Echocardiography Technologist

Schedule

This position involves rotating shifts that include weekends and overnight call responsibilities from 5:00 PM to 6:30 AM for 2-3 nights per month.

Job Description

Join a busy inpatient echocardiography lab at a tertiary care hospital with a Level I trauma center. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform 7-8 echocardiograms per day, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Utilize stress echocardiograms and optimize image quality through meticulous scanning techniques and appropriate equipment settings.
• Adhere to lab standards and protocols to maintain consistency and diagnostic accuracy.
• Ensure exceptional patient care and communication throughout procedures, fostering patient comfort and understanding.
• Manage high-volume workflows efficiently while maintaining superior diagnostic quality.
• Participate in collaborative work culture and continuous improvement initiatives through case reviews and educational opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 5 years of echocardiography experience, including at least 2+ years of acute inpatient echo experience in a Level I trauma facility.
• Proficiency in a wide range of echocardiography procedures that meet accreditation standards.
• In-depth knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology.
• Strong time management skills and a commitment to adhere to ASE and IAC standards.
