Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant – Occupational Therapy

Requirements:

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Previous experience in skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Implement treatment plans designed by a licensed Occupational Therapist to assist residents in regaining independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist with resident evaluations and contribute to the documentation of functional status and progress toward goals.
• Provide direct therapy services compassionately and safely to improve residents' mobility, cognition, and psychosocial functioning.
• Monitor and document residents' responses to interventions, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide relevant updates about residents' progress.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and safety techniques to encourage independence.

• Uphold ethical and professional conduct in accordance with state licensure and certification requirements.
