Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Clinic Based

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000/year (DOE)
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM (No weekends/on-call)
Patient Load: 5–6 pediatric patients/day (~60 min sessions)

Position Summary

COTA provides direct pediatric occupational therapy services under OT supervision in a clinic setting, supporting individualized treatment plans to improve functional, sensory, motor, and daily living skills.

Key Duties

• Implement OT treatment plans under supervision
• Deliver pediatric therapy (fine motor, sensory, cognitive, ADLs)
• Document sessions and track patient progress
• Communicate updates with supervising OT
• Educate families on home programs
• Maintain equipment and ensure safe therapy practices
• Support scheduling, attendance, and billing documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team
  

Requirements

• Associate’s degree from accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Valid Arizona COTA license
• Must pass TB test (current or within required timeframe)
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
• Fingerprinting and background check required per state regulations
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• Pediatric or outpatient clinic experience preferred
  

Work Environment

Clinic-based pediatric setting with moderate activity and interaction with children with developmental and behavioral needs. Frequent movement, lifting up to 25 lbs (50 lbs with assistance).
