Position Available
Full-time or Part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
First Step Therapy is currently seeking a COTA to join our growing multidisciplinary team in Winter Park treating clients with a variety of diagnoses ranging from age 0-21 years old within their natural environment. We provide services in schools, daycares, ABA centers, PPECs, and homes. First Step Therapy believes in therapist autonomy and allows providers to choose the setting(s) that best aligns with their skill set.
W2 and 1099 positions available

Job SummaryOccupational therapy assistants (OTAs) collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and carry out a treatment plan for each patient. Occupational therapy assistants work with patients that have developmental delays, teaching them functional skills to improve independence. Assistants monitor and document progress throughout the treatment period.
Job RequirementsAssociate of Applied Science Degree
Valid Florida OTA LicenseLevel II fingerprinting background
Driver’s License
Professional Liability Insurance
QualificationsAbility to physically assist patients in performing functional tasks and therapeutic exercises
Sensory integration knowledge1 year pediatric experience (preferred)
1 year feeding therapy experience (preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Essential FunctionsProvide OT services (treatment) to the patients
Following treatment plan set by evaluating therapist
Caregiver education
Team collaborationAssisting evaluating therapist in developing appropriate treatment plan at re-evaluation
