Compliance and Reporting Specialist (California Remote)

With general direction, the Compliance & Reporting Specialist performs a variety of routine and non-routine moderate reporting functions to ensure the proper reporting of accurate disposal and waste diversion for municipalities based on franchise agreement terms This role typicalles entails responsibility for franchise reporting with complex reporting requirements.

Follows standard operating procedures and prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports pertaining to tonnage, diversion, disposal and franchise fees. Reviews tonnage and franchise fee reporting for completeness and accuracy. Follows up with division staff, municipalities, or external disposal facilities to resolve identified discrepancies. Translates system data into scalable and easily understood solutions for external customers. Runs various reports to prepare franchise fees and ensure franchise fee payments are processed and submitted timely to meet deadlines. Organizes data for standard weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and yearly reports using various Company information systems. Monitors and maintains regularly scheduled municipal reports and submits to customers within required time frame. The ability to effectively interact and communicate with division managers and customers professionally. Must be able to demonstrate initiative to thoughtfully research and follow up on non-standard situations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Proficient in all Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.

The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation's first integrated plastics recycling facility. These innovative sites process rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity.
