Cost Accountant

Job DetailsThe tracking, reporting, and accountability of all product inventory related to production reporting of the Tubular Division of Haynes International, Inc. Accountability includes meeting Arcadia Facility requirements as well as corporate requirements and deadlines in such a manner as to contribute to the Company business plan. Review GL activity, consolidate information, and prepare reporting requirements timely. Provide support to the Quality and Production Planning departments as needed. Serve as a short-term replacement in the absence of the Accounting Specialist in all capacities, and the Finance Manager in key dutiesRole QualificationsEducation: B.S. Degree in Business or Accounting (Required) Experience: Microsoft Applications specifically including Excel (Required) Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar experience (Preferred) 1+ Year Manufacturing Experience (Preferred) Inventory Control/Accountability (Preferred) 1+ Year Month End Close, General Ledger experience (Preferred) Areas of Knowledge: Microsoft AX Dynamics or similar ERP Cost Accounting System; Inventory Tracking and Flow Analysis; Manufacturing Process and Flow; Health & Safety; Multitasking (all required) Skills: Intermediate to Advanced Computer Literacy and Navigation, Good analytical organization and communication skills, Self-Motivation, Able to work well with others (all required)Global Accountabilities for the Role:Safety/Environmental Establish and maintain a safe work environment and safe work habits.Quality Complete areas of accountability with professionalism and in pressured time frames.Productivity Analyze and streamline areas of accountability to work as efficiently as possible.Cost/Stewardship Work efficiently as possible, conserving supplies and other Company provisions where ever possibleRole Responsibilities:Routine Product Costing for Tubing and Fittings ProductsSales Reporting and Cost of Goods Sold - Reconcile for daily and monthly closing and reportingProduct Returns coordinator and sales contactResponsible for labor for Shopfloor systems including weekly and month-end reconciliation for both temporary personnelReview conversion invoices and receipts -- checking for reasonableness and ensuring proper procedures are followedCross-train on AX and Shopfloor transactions and other duties of the Accounting SpecialistCross-train to learn WIP and Production Variance analysis and annual department budgetsAssist with annual physical inventoriesAssist with SOX and audit requestsAssist with other analysis and reporting as neededMember of the Internal Audit Team for Arcadia Tubular Facility Process AuditsGeneral ledger, Trial Balance, Journal Entries knowledgeAdhere to month end close cycle (5 business days)Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
