About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current state license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Unit accepts first-time travelers - Skills include: Med/Surg; MS/Tele; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; telemetry remote monitoring; rapid response and code team involvement; colostomy and ileostomy management; feeding tube care; pre/post hemodialysis management; renal failure; blood product administration; central line blood draw; peripheral line care; phlebotomy; PICC line management; IV initiation and maintenance; oxygen administration; non-invasive airway management; wound care; isolation precautions. Description: The unit provides care for various patient populations including those with diabetes, dementia, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and more. Nursing ratios are 1:6. Nights shift hours are from 18:45 to 07:15. Travelers may be required to float to the main campus. The unit utilizes Pyxis for medication management. Weekend work is required every other week. Staff may be assigned to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Patient diagnoses include, but are not limited to, diabetes, dementia, COVID, pneumonia, sepsis, and hip fractures. Experience with electronic documentation preferred. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start. All certifications must be current and valid.
