Job Summary Provides direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act. Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of patients. Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies to assure that the individual in crisis is properly cared for and that all other patients are safe. Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities. Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications. Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift. Responsibilities Direct patient care, treatment planning, crisis coordination, teamwork, medication administration, and charge nurse duties. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current RI nursing license. B.S.N preferred.
