We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITY: Controller

PART-TIME/FULL-TIME Full time

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Processing, verifying, and posting receipts: For goods sold or services rendered.
• Researching and resolving account discrepancies.
• Processing and recording transactions.
• Maintaining records regarding payments and account statuses.
• Ensure the company receives payments for goods and services.
• Work with other departments: Ensure that the correct amounts are collected in a timely manner.
• Consider the need for new or changed controls.
• Ensure payment credits are applied correctly.
• Weekly cash management and reporting.
• Sales tax tracking with Excel
• Month end Closing procedures
• Maintain asset, liability, and other sub ledgers
• Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
• Maintain various reconciliation accounts
• Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
• FULL CYCLE A/P
• POST ALL STANDARD ENTRIES
• POST ALL FACTORY INVOICES
• MONTHLY BANK RECONCILIATION
• SCHEDULE RECONCILIATION (FACTORY, CASH SALES, SUBLET, WIP, ECT.)
• POST DEALER TRADES
• ANNUAL PREP OF 1099S
• MAINTAIN W-9 BINDER FOR ALL VENDORS
• MAINTAIN STATUS OF ALL SALES LICENSE
• PLACE SNACK ORDERS FROM COSTCO AS NEEDED
• PLACE ORDERS FOR OFFICE SUPPLIES AS NEEDED, INCLUDING:
• -UNIFORMS
• -BUSINESS CARDS

ANY ADDITIONAL TASKS OR PROJECTS ASSIGNED BY CONTROLLER

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficiency in English; Bilingual with Spanish is an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
• High School Diploma or higher
• CDK experience is a plus
• Dealership experience is a MUST
• Data entry
• Ten Key by touch

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :

• Proven experience as an accountant/ bookkeeper; Three years or more experience is preferred.
• Solid understanding of Accounting Principles.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS EXCEL
• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software
• Ability to follow essential job procedures and supervisor instructions.
• Must be courteous and respectful with ability to adhere to the Company’s Policies and Employee Standards
• Work independently, interact in team
• Multi-tasker
• Motivated, self-starter
• MUST be Dependable
• Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail; good problem-solving skills.
• Professional attire a must
• Strong analytical skills
• Willingness to take on any new skills/responsibilities

Expected hours: 40 per week, Overtime as need or assigned by Controller
