Project EngineerThe primary function of the Project Engineer is to assist the project team in the administration and management of many of the activities associated with the construction project.Key ResponsibilitiesThe duties, responsibilities and attributes of the Project Engineer typically include, but are not limited to:Assist with job office set upPrepare the initial set up of CMiC, i.e. Submittal Log Registry, RFI numbering system, etc.Prepare and maintain Submittal LogsAssist the project team with the initial set up of PlanGrid to organize the contract documents for the teams useManage, set up, and oversee progress photo documentation via utilizing PlanGridPrepare and maintain RFI Logs in CMiCPost RFI's and maintain the accuracy of the projects as-builts within a timely mannerManage and maintain the Material Procurement LogInteract with Field Superintendent(s), Field Foreman, Subcontractor Project Managers, and Material Suppliers / Vendors to ensure timely material deliveries to the siteOversee the contract close out process (O&M manuals, As-Builts, etc.)Create and organize all closeout bindersAttend project meetings and assist in the preparation / distribution of meeting minutesAttend and participate in WEO Quarterly Risk Management (QRM) TrainingsParticipate in WEO networking eventsParticipate in all PE trainings, including PE Boot Camps and PE Round TablesManagement SkillsAssist the Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager in obtaining costs from subcontractors for any extra work performed on the projectLog costs properly in CMiC, so the Subcontractor Tracking Log may be utilizedAssist or manage documenting, tracking and maintaining PCI Ticket LogEnsure the timely delivery to the jobsite of all project equipment and materials (procurement)Coordinate with the Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager on the date subcontracts must be awarded by to maintain the desired material on-site dates, per the P6 scheduleManage the entire submittal process with the subcontractors and design teamEnsure that the project team is aware of the storage location of all approved SubmittalsCreate and maintain a document log, which tracks every drawing issuance from the design teamAssist with the distribution of overall project schedules and 8-week look ahead schedulesFind conflicts in the contract documents and issue a "Request for Information" (RFI) to the appropriate party / partiesFind practical solutions to field problems or conflicts found in the contract documents prior to issuing RFI'sTrack outstanding RFIs and expedite return responses to all subcontractors. Elevate critical issues to the APM / PM in a timely mannerAs required by the specific project conditions, assist the Project Superintendent(s) in providing safety orientation to all field workers prior to their start of work on siteAs required by the specific project conditions, assist the Project Superintendent(s) with generating and issuing incident reportsCollect all Injury and Illness Prevention Plans (IIPP) from all subcontractorsCollect all Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) plans from subcontractors as neededCollect Safety Submittals from subcontractors - IIPP, JHA, SDSAs required by the specific project conditions, assist in creating the first draft of the projects Site Specific Quality Plan (SSQP)Work with the Project Superintendent(s) to schedule all pre-installation meetingsAttend weekly Building Information Modeling (BIM) meetings and assist in the development of a coordinated model between the MEPF tradesDocument and take meeting minutes for weekly BIM coordination meetingsDesign project required mock-ups and play a pivotal role in the management of all project required mock- upsDevelop an Owner training schedule which shows when all applicable subcontractors will provide training to the OwnerVideo record and formally transmit all trainings to the Owner as part of our close out packageManage the punchlist process with the project(s) assigned Project Superintendent(s)Follow up and document punch list work statusParticipate in initial and / or acceptance walks with the Architect / Owner, as neededSkills, Knowledge and ExpertisePersonal AttributesEffective written and verbal language communication skillsTakes initiative, strives for increased responsibility and has a desire to learnShows emotional maturity, punctuality and dependabilityMotivate and contribute to the teamwork / morale of the project teamShows the desire and willingness to progress to the Senior Project Engineer role and responsibilitiesInterpersonal SkillsEstablish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all (client, design professionals, various WEO departments, WEO project team, inspectors, and subcontractors)Show alignment with and promotes WEO Corporate ValuesQualifications Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience in a related field. Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) Basic understanding of scheduling and CMiC applications. Understanding of basic construction administration processes, including construction documents, schedules, RFIs, submittals and material procurement. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
