About the Position

Job Summary

A Travel RN is a licensed nursing professional who works temporary assignments at healthcare facilities experiencing staffing shortages. Travel RNs provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with healthcare teams, and adapt quickly to new clinical environments such as hospitals, clinics, and specialized care units.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patient conditions and document vital signs and progress
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and Registered Nurses to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and post-care instructions
• Operate and monitor medical equipment
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic health systems
• Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, safety protocols, and facility policies
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical care when needed
• Adapt quickly to new work environments, teams, and procedures

Requirements

• Valid RN license (state-approved; compact license preferred for travel roles)
• Current BLS certification from organizations like the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred (required for some specialties)
• New graduates may be considered for certain assignments, but most roles prefer 1–2 years of clinical experience
• Strong clinical and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Flexibility to travel and work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work independently and adapt to diverse healthcare settings
