Let Purvis Industries show you how we practice these principles daily!We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records.Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies.Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits.Assist with financial reporting and management reporting requirements.Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.Support variance analysis activities.Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and resolve issues.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.2-5 years of accounting experience.Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.Effective written and verbal communication skills.PreferredCPA certification or CPA candidate status.Experience in a multi-entity business environment.Knowledge of financial statement preparation and audit support.Key CompetenciesFinancial AnalysisGeneral Ledger AccountingReconciliationsMonth-End CloseTime ManagementAccuracy and Attention to DetailCollaboration and TeamworkProcess ImprovementAccountability and IntegrityBenefitsPaid time off401(k) enrollmentHealth insuranceDental InsuranceVision insuranceLife InsuranceAbility to set up a Flexible Spending AccountYou will be a valued member of a stable and established company.
