Construction Inspector

Location: Indiana Employment Type: Full-Time About the Opportunity A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Construction Inspector to support transportation and infrastructure projects throughout Indiana. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of roadway, bridge, utility, and site development projects while collaborating with engineers, contractors, and public agencies to ensure quality construction and compliance with project specifications. Responsibilities Perform daily construction inspections on transportation and infrastructure projects. Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards. Review construction materials, workmanship, and installation procedures. Document project progress through detailed field reports, daily diaries, and photographic records. Conduct measurements and quantity calculations for pay estimates. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, utility companies, and agency representatives. Identify construction issues and communicate recommendations for resolution. Verify compliance with safety requirements and traffic control standards. Assist with project closeout documentation and final inspections. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Experience performing construction inspection on roadway, bridge, utility, or transportation projects. Familiarity with INDOT standards, specifications, and construction practices preferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction documentation software. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to project sites as needed. Preferred Experience INDOT construction inspection experience. Certifications such as INDOT Certified Technician, ACI, ICC, or related industry credentials.
