Act as front line leaders for technical knowledge on highly complex automation or equipment problems. Work with outside contractors, vendors for maintaining equipment and needed inventory. Communicate with key Stakeholders on all activities that affect Safety, Quality or Production.Essential Job Functions:Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipmentTroubleshoot any issues of mechanical devices, correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity / quality standardsControl downtime by communicating with all departmentsDetermine changes in dimensional requirements of parts, fabricate parts when needed, adjust functional parts of devices and control instrumentsMaintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories, conserve resources when ableResponsible for facility maintenancePrepare maintenance reports, document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needsWork in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures.Be actively involved in Continuous ImprovementDemonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and proceduresDemonstrates commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned by Supervisors/ManagersEducation & Experience:High School Diploma or Equivalent5 years of experience highly preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe mannerAbility to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the businessAbility to effectively work in teamsAbility to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and peopleAbility to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of rolesMust have basic math, reading, and communication skillsAbility to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete: a blueprint, an electrical schematic, operating and maintenance manuals, a work order, repair parts request, standard and metric tape measureOther measuring equipment: a micrometer, a caliper, a scale, a VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter)Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functionsAbility to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machinesAbility to overhaul, rebuild and troubleshoot plant machinesAbility to make simple parts or equipment and toolsOperating knowledge of and experience with personal computersPhysical Requirements & Work Environment:Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse settingWalking, standing, bending for duration of shiftFrequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.This is a 1st shift position, hours are 5:30am-2:00pmMust be able to work in a cold environment with temperatures around 40 degreesThe expected hourly range for this position is $30.00-$35.00 an hour.
