Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Manager of Systems Engineering (Level 1) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver.

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a talented professional to join the Advanced Space Processing E&S team in Boulder, CO as a Manager of Systems Engineering Level 1 managing a team of Algorithms/Analysis Engineers and/or Software Engineers.

Essential Functions:

• This is a dual role encompassing both functional management and technical performance on the BOA program within the Advanced Space Processing Portfolio team.

• Demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance
• Will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline preferred from an accredited institution and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; or 1 year of experience with a PhD.
• Must be experienced in all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle
• Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in collaborating with and leading engineering teams.
• Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must.
• High proficiency in technical problem solving
• Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations
• Familiarity with the Missile Defense System
• Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time to support business needs.
• Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret clearance at the time of application which is required to start

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a relevant technical or management specialty
• Direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership
• Working knowledge of OPIR sensors, with respect to focal plane resolution, sensitivity, and line of sight considerations for the purpose of tracking
• Technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
• Unix/Linux operating system expertise (RHEL)
• Experience with C/C++ software language, development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs)
• Agile development experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $133,000.00 - $199,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
