Clinic Support Specialist Rapid City, South Dakota | Full-Time | $19-$22/hour Mission-Driven | Patient-Centered | Scheduled On-Call (paid separately)

We're growing - and we're looking for a Clinic Support Specialist who wants to make a meaningful impact every day.
The Role Clinic Support Specialists are the operational backbone of our clinic. You'll help patients navigate care, support providers, troubleshoot issues in real time, and ensure the clinic runs smoothly. If you enjoy problem-solving, multitasking, and helping people feel supported, this role is a great fit.
What You'll Do

• Maintain smooth daily clinic flow and a welcoming patient experience
• Support new and returning patients with pre-visit and post-visit needs
• Troubleshoot telemedicine issues and assist patients with virtual care
• Coordinate care logistics, referrals, and provider follow-up
• Manage communication across phone, EMR, fax, and other platforms
• Process EMR tasks, patient messages, referrals, and external documents
• Complete prior authorizations (training provided)
• Assist with financial eligibility and pharmacy documentation
• Perform CLIA-waived testing and coordinate lab send-outs
• Prepare patient education materials

Front Desk Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients
• Answer phones and direct calls
• Schedule and confirm appointments
• Verify insurance and patient information
• Collect and document required forms

What You Bring

• Experience in customer service or healthcare (preferred, not required)
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort learning new systems and technology
• Clear, professional communication
• A patient-centered mindset and willingness to learn
• Reliability, adaptability, and teamwork
• Interest in harm reduction or behavioral health is a plus

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with healthcare regulations
• Ability to participate in scheduled on-call rotation
  • On-call compensation is paid separately from hourly wages
