Lathe Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to join our client's team in Burgettstown, PA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to precision and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery to identify, locate, and load items using equipment such as cranes and fork trucks.
• Review job packets for setup and job-specific details.
• Measure items and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy.
• Load, test, and verify program accuracy, making necessary adjustments during operations.
• Perform drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, turning, and facing operations.
• Monitor ongoing jobs to maintain accuracy and proper speed.
• Write and edit basic and CAM programs to enhance efficiency.
• Document and implement improved processes and tooling independently and collaboratively.
• Clean and finish products by de-burring and wiping down surfaces.
• Unload finished products and prepare them for the next workflow stage.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, reporting any equipment issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in using measurement tools like micrometers and calipers.
• Strong mathematical skills, including algebra and geometry.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Mechanical ability with ideally one year of experience or completion of trade school (preferred but not mandatory).
