Telecommunications Engineering Technician The Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is seeking a Telecommunications Engineering Technician to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area - Engineering Services Group located in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will support the daily operations of the Brand‑New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS), a new system that will replace outdated infrastructure including radar, software, hardware and telecommunications networks to manage modern travel. Job Duties Review FAA databases and provide input or draft Site Survey Reports (SSR). Conduct site surveys to provide input and/or draft Site Survey Reports. Coordinate schedules with SSC, ES and vendor personnel. Draft Project Risk Plans (PRP) and Operational Risk Management Plans (ORMP). Generate and/or update drawings, sketches and artifacts. Draft project plans for site preparation activities. Coordinate scheduled outages with SSC and Air Traffic & Operations personnel. Develop transition plans. Resolve schedule conflicts. Accompany unbadged personnel at facilities. Work with LECs on schedules. Develop briefings, information and reports on District status. Work with other Districts/SSC on interstate service flows, transitions, cutovers, planning, etc. Support District POC and SSCs with day‑to‑day work activities. Review and provide comments on vendor Site Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP). Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience; additional experience may be substituted or considered in lieu of a degree. Ability to travel 75–100%. Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance (eligible if U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident who has resided in the U.S. continuously for at least 3 of the past 5 years without breaks). Proficiency in MS Office Suites. Desired Qualifications 2+ years of experience working with telco systems performing network troubleshooting. Proficient working with AutoCAD or similar tools. Knowledge of the Electric Code (NEC), Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, and Airspace System Equipment Tower. Knowledge of OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards. Knowledge of NAS facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR and RCAG. Pay Range Pay Range $73,450.00 – $132,775.00. Pay and Benefits Pay and benefits are fundamental to any career decision.
