Experienced Retail Pharmacy Technician Needed for Specialty Pharmacy Role – Columbus, OH

This opportunity is for a skilled Pharmacy Technician with retail experience to join a specialty pharmacy focused on providing medications to complex patients managing multiple chronic conditions. Working with a high volume of patients who take 8-15 medications daily, this role requires exceptional communication skills, patience, and a solid understanding of commonly prescribed retail drugs.

Location:

• Columbus, Ohio

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No weekend shifts

Contract Details:

• Contract-to-hire position
• Initial 13-week contract with potential for permanent placement
• Start date: ASAP

Role Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
• Utilize strong patient communication skills to assist low literacy Medicare/Medicaid populations with compassion and clarity
• Support pharmacists by verifying prescriptions and managing specialty medications
• Operate pharmacy software (Pioneer Rx experience preferred; training available)
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to optimize patient care

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Prior retail pharmacy technician experience required, specialty retail pharmacy experience highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work with patients managing chronic diseases
• Strong knowledge of top 200-400 retail medications
• Excellent patience and communication skills, especially with complex patient cases
• Active Ohio Pharmacy Technician license
• PTCB certification preferred but not mandatory
