Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with outpatient and neuro-adult experience for a 13-week assignment at a hospital in Idaho.

Details

• Outpatient OT setting with coverage across all areas of the hospital as needed
• Focuses on neuro-adult patient population
• Individual caseload of 10–12 patients; facility total therapy caseload is approximately 140 patients
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
• Equipment used includes Epic EMR, gait belts, assistive devices, lift devices, and adaptive equipment

Requirements

• Graduate of a nationally accredited school of occupational therapy required
• Current OT license in the state of Idaho required (license required if applicable)
• Acute care experience required
• Outpatient and neuro-adult experience required
• Critical care experience preferred but not required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and maintain standing and/or sitting positions for extended periods
• 2 current references required: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Plan and conduct individualized OT programs to help patients develop, regain, or maintain the ability to perform daily activities
• Teach patients adaptive techniques and use of assistive equipment for daily activities
• Evaluate and document patient progress throughout the course of treatment
• Orientation is conducted with staff for each unit or comparable units
• Business casual dress code; scrubs are acceptable
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Strong communication skills and flexibility are important for success in this role
