Registered Nurse (RN) OR General Surgery

Role: Registered Nurse providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a surgical or labor and delivery setting. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and evaluate individualized care plans. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and effective patient care. Administer medications accurately, following safety protocols and age-specific guidelines. Maintain patient safety by adhering to policies for identification, procedures, and documentation. Document care and responses promptly using appropriate tools. Communicate effectively with team members, respond quickly to changes, and demonstrate critical thinking. Provide age-appropriate care, considering psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural factors. Prepare surgical rooms, maintain aseptic techniques, and assist with specimen handling. Act as a scrub role, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready and accounted for. Mentor colleagues, demonstrate autonomous practice, and pursue professional growth. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active Connecticut RN license. CPR certification required. Experience in surgical or labor and delivery, particularly assisting with C-sections. Effective verbal and written communication skills and basic computer proficiency. Ability to work under stress, organize tasks, and utilize critical thinking and sound judgment.
