Systems AdministratorAbout This RoleAs our Systems Administrator, you will be a technical contributor within BibleProject's TechOps team, helping keep our core technology and data infrastructure available, reliable, performant, and secure. You will play a key role in administering our server, storage, network, and security systems, bringing new tools into our technology pipeline, and serving as a technical partner to teams across the Project. To be successful, you will need hands-on experience managing mixed-OS environments, comfort working directly with staff on day-to-day support, and a collaborative, service-minded approach to solving problems for the people who rely on these systems every day.In all your work, you will bring your skills and experience to help further our mission of helping people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.Core ResponsibilitiesPartner with the Security team to implement org-wide security measures and controlsCoordinate with the broader team to ensure consistent on-site helpdesk coverageDocument solutions to repeat problems with clarity so others can resolve them tooRecommend improvements to our technology stack as you stay current on infrastructure, security, and cloud platformsResponsibilityHandle intake, triage, troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution for internal technical issuesRespond to requests in person and online during established working hoursParticipate in the on-call schedule to respond to and remediate incidents and outagesWork with the broader TechOps team on onboarding and offboarding, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and endpoint lifecycle managementExpertiseIntegrate new applications and technologies into the current technology pipelineAdminister Windows, macOS, and Linux systemsIdentify and apply process improvements that make our systems and support work more efficientWhat We Are Looking For3+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator roleHands-on experience administering macOS and WindowsA track record of resolving technical issues from intake through resolution in a help desk or support queueExperience balancing reactive support work with longer-term project delivery, and the ability to describe how you prioritize between themStrong troubleshooting skills, shown by examples of diagnosing and fixing complex issuesClear written communication, shown through documentation or knowledge-base content you have createdA generous, service-oriented approach to supporting the organization, with a can-do attitude and genuine enthusiasm for helping people and teams thriveStrong interpersonal skills, including explaining technical topics to non-technical colleagues with patience and careDependable follow-through, including comfort participating in an on-call rotationExperience finding and implementing efficiencies, such as automating a manual task or streamlining a processAn understanding and appreciation for BibleProject's contentNice to have: experience with any of the followingWorkplace technologies: Google Workspace, Slack, JiraUEM/MDM systems: Jamf, MaaS360, Meraki, etc.Enterprise scale-out NAS systems: Qumulo, Isilon, NetApp, etc.Scripting and automation: Python, BashHelp desk systems: Jira/JSD, Zendesk, etc.Cloud Technologies: AWS, Google Cloud, AzureAbout BibleProjectPortland, Oregon, Founded in 2014BibleProject is an educational technology and media studio whose mission is to help people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.We have grown significantly in the area of multimedia technology.
